2018 Western Academy of Management
Doctoral Student Consortium: March 7-8
Junior Faculty Consortium: March 8
The Western Academy of Management invites doctoral students to apply for this year’s WAM Doctoral Student Consortium or the Junior Faculty Consortium in Salt Lake City, UT. We encourage colleagues to share this information with anyone who may be interested in applying. We are accepting applications to the Consortiums beginning on December 15, 2017.
The Doctoral Student Consortium begins at 3pm March 7th and continues on March 8th until the opening session for WAM 2018. Attendees should be available to attend the two days of sessions. The program is designed to enhance students’ development as researchers and teachers, as well as to provide important networking opportunities including with the 2018 Ascendant Scholars and the Journal of Management Inquiry’s Outstanding Scholars, Jane Dutton (University of Michigan) and Nandini Rajagopalan (University of Southern California). The Western Academy of Management is known to be a warm and welcoming group of scholars.
The Junior Faculty Consortium begins at 10am Thursday March 8th and runs until that afternoon’s WAM 2018 Opening Session. Due to overwhelming feedback from last year’s attendees, we are extending the consortium hours to include Thursday morning. For those who will arrive on Wednesday evening and are interested in informally meeting for dinner, we will facilitate contact with each other. The aim of the Consortium is to develop a supportive community of scholars. The consortium will include a mix of panels, presentations, and small group discussions about research, publishing, teaching, and other career-related issues. It will provide opportunities to network with scholars including the 2018 Ascendant Scholars and the Journal of Management Inquiry’s Outstanding Scholars, Jane Dutton (University of Michigan) and Nandini Rajagopalan (University of Southern California).
The WAM Conference ends on March 10th. For more information, please wamconf.org
